We've been talking about going back to Fraiche forever. We finally did! It was just as wonderful as the first time.
Blueberry Martini ($11.00)
I started out with a blueberry martini. It didn't taste like blueberry, but more like tart raspberry martini. It wasn't bad, but I like the strawberry martini I had last time better.
Bread & Olive Tapenade
After ordering, the waitress brought us the bread and olive tapenade. I don't like olive, but for some reason love the olive tapenade here. I think I had 5 pieces of bread because of it.
Oysters on the Half Shell ($13.00)
For appetizer, we ordered oysters on the half shell. 6 oysters, 3 varieties. I don't remember the names of the oysters. Just remember one was from somewhere oversea, one was from San Diego, and Kumamoto oyster from Japan. The 3 types of oyster all had different texture and taste. I like the one from San Diego the best. It was firmer and had a bite to it. We like the freshly grated horseradish and the pickled onion sauce a lot as well.
White Bordeaux ($8.00)
Dr. Park had a White Bordeaux to go with the seafood. Fraiche has a really good wine selection. Their waitstaffs are also very knowledgable about their food and wine pairing.
Ravioli ($12.00)
We had a pasta dish to share. Ravioli with braised leeks, Fontina cheese, bay leaf and roasted chicken Jus. This is how pasta should be, freshly handmade.
The ravioli was filled with delicious gooey Fontina cheese. The chicken jus sauce was delicious with the ravioli. The braised lekk strings was addictive, too. Small dish, but quite fulfilling.
Barolo ($13.00)
Dr. Park also ordered a Italian red wine Barolo to go with the heavier meat main entree. I like this wine a lot. Very smooth.
Branzino en Papillote ($26.00)
We had two main entrees to share, one seafood dish and one meat dish. For seafood dish, we had Branzino en Papillote. The Mediterranean seabass was wrapped in paper and baked with roasted peppers, black olive, red onion, fennel, and lemoncello. The fish was soft and full of flavor. We both love the dish.
Braised Duck Legs ($24.00)
I ordered the special of the day, braised duck legs. Fraiche had a wine tasting event that afternoon and this was one of the dishes they served at the event. Our waitress participated in the event and had the duck. She highly recommended the dish and we took her suggestion. The dish was indeed delicious. Two duck legs braised perfectly. The tender meat just fell off the bone. The black rice mixed with the sauce and juice from the duck was so good. The portion was quite big, but of course we didn't mind that.
Apple Crepe ($9.00)
For dessert, we had apple crepe made with apple butter, sauteed apples, candied pecans and maple ice cream. Every single things on this dish was yummy. Dr. Park doesn't even like dessert, and he was fighting over the apple crepe with me. haha....
Coffee ($3.00)
We ended the meal with a cup of coffee. Even the coffee was perfectly brewed. Does Fraiche just have to be perfect in everything?
We just love this restaurant. We have our special table on the patio, the same table we sat at the first time. Great food, great wine, great dessert, great coffee, and of course, the great Dr. Park with me. It was just a perfect dinner.
Our perfect night didn't end right there. We went to The Grove and had a nice stroll there. Watching the dancing fountain was pretty romantic. Even going to the bookstore to buy some books with Dr. Park was romantic. I guess Fraiche just put us in a romantic mood. haha....
We will definately be back to Fraiche again and again and again and again.......

ReplyDelete好甜蜜!
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteNice review! :) The Duck special looks great (it wasn't available the last time I went). I like Fraiche a lot as well, it's been pretty good so far (but some people have noted that the Maitre d' can be really rude to people (I didn't have that experience yet, luckily).
