I Like It BIG!

I'm going to say this loud and clear: I LIKE IT BIG!

我要大聲的說：我喜歡大！

Before I left for work, mom handed me a ziploc bag.  "Here, take some strawberries," she said.  The strawberries were wrapped with napkin paper.  It seemed like there were maybe 7 or 8 strawberries by the fullness of the bag.  When I opened the bag at work, I was really surprised to find only 3 strawberries inside.

這天我要出門上班前，媽媽給了我一袋草莓叫我帶去公司吃，草莓包在餐巾紙中，以袋子的大小來看，我以為大概有七、八顆草莓吧！沒想到到了公司打開一看，居然只有三顆。



Just look at the size of that strawberry!  It was almost as big as my hand.  The color and shape were so perfect that it almost looked like a fake strawberry.  I took a bite.  The strawberry was hollow in the middle, but so sweet and juicy.  So yes, I like it big.  In fact, bigger the better. So give me big bigger huge humongous strawberries, please.

這個草莓真是有夠巨大，簡直就要跟我的手一樣大了，而且顏色和形狀都超完美，完美到看起來像顆假的草莓一樣，咬了一大口，發現草莓的中間是空心的，但是超多汁又香甜，好好吃啊！所以沒錯，我喜歡大，越大越好，再多給我一些巨碩的草莓吧！





Since we are on the subject, let's talk more about fruit.  This mandarin came from my aunt's backyard.  I think the rough skin looked ugly.  And it felt weird too.  Soft and almost sponge like.  Inside the peel, the fruit was actually a lot smaller.  It was a little dry, but sweet.  My co-worker from China said this specific kind of mandarin is called "Fu" mandarin in China.  I have never seen it before though.

既然講到草莓，那就再來談談水果吧！這是我姑姑家種的橘子，凹凸不平的外皮看起來真是又奇怪又醜，摸起來的感覺也怪怪的，軟軟的像海綿一樣，撥開外皮，裡面的果肉其實只有小小一顆，有點乾，但是很甜，大陸同事告訴我這種橘子叫做「福橘」，還是很特別的品種呢！



We had one birthday in the office last week.  For Mayumi's birthday, we went to a Korean bakery and got this fruit cake ($35).  The color fruits looked so inviting.  But the actual cake tasted just alright.  It was a bit too dry for my taste.  I like the fruit though, especially the strawberry. Yum!

上星期辦公室又有同事生日，我們去韓國麵包店買了這個水果蛋糕幫Mayumi過生日，看到蛋糕上面色彩鮮豔的水果就覺得很好吃，不過實際上這蛋糕也只有還好而已，吃起來有點太乾的感覺，不過水果還是很好吃，尤其是草莓，好愛草莓啊！

Now summer is almost here (or is it already here in Los Angeles?).  Can't wait to have some watermelon!

現在夏天快來了(還是洛杉磯的夏天已經來了?)，好想吃西瓜喔！
