Ever since discovering Banh Mi Che Cali, I've been telling Dr. Park about this wonderful find.  This restaurant offers delicious Vietnamese food with dirt cheap price.  How can you say no to a bowl of pho that only cost a gallon of gas?  Last Tuesday I bought some take out to Dr. Park's hosue for lunch.

自從發現Banh Mi Che Cali這家餐廳，就一直告訴公園先生這家餐廳的越南菜又好吃又便宜，一碗越南牛肉河粉只和一加侖汽油一樣貴就可以買到，這個長周末的汽油真是貴得嚇死人啊！上周二去買了些外賣帶到公園先生家一起吃午餐。


Shrimp Rolls ($3.00)

Shrimp roll was made with shrimp, ham and fresh veggie wrapped in rice paper.  I really like the flavor of Vietnamese ham.  The veggies were fresh and crunchy.  The sesame peanut sauce was quite tasty as well.

買了之前買過的鮮蝦捲，裡面包有鮮蝦、火腿和蔬菜，我很喜歡越南火腿的味道，配上脆脆的蔬菜真是好吃。




Pho Special ($4.50)

The Pho Special came with a few slices of raw beef, cooked beef, beef balls, tendon and tripes.  We added bean sprout, basil, mint and lime to the flavorful broth.  Simply delicious.  The portion was big enough for two of us.  What a great value!

特別牛肉河粉中有生牛肉、熟牛肉、牛肉丸、牛筋和牛肚，我們回家後把所有東西都裝在小鍋裡再加熱了一下，再加入豆芽、九層塔、薄荷和萊姆，真的很好吃，而且一碗我們兩個人就吃的好飽喔！


Pork Combination Porridge ($2.00)

I thought the Pho probably won't be enough, so I bought some porridge as well.  But we were so full after the pho, the porridge turned into dinner.  For $2, you get a big bowl of porridge made with Vietnamese broken rice.  There were pork sausage, pork blood, pork stomach and pork heart (or tongue?) in it.  I love organ meat.  Dr. Park wasn't a big fan of it.  But strangely, he likes the porridge as well.

本來以為一碗牛肉河粉不夠我們兩個人吃，所以又買了一份豬雜粥，但是吃完牛肉河粉實在太飽了，後來粥還是吃不下只好留下當晚餐，粥裡面有豬血、豬肚、豬心(還是豬舌？)和豬臘腸，我原本就很喜歡吃內臟類的東西，覺得好吃極了，不過公園先生這個老外就一直沒有很喜歡，但是這天居然也說粥好吃，豬血豬肚豬心通吃啊！


Teriyaki Beef Sandwich ($2.25)

I bought an extra beef sandwich to take to work for dinner.  On the menu it did said "Teriyaki" beef sandwich.  But for some reason, I thought maybe they meant a different kind of "teriyaki", like some exotic Vietnamese kind of teriyaki?  Oh well, it turned to be the regular teriyaki we all know. 

我多買了一個牛肉三明治準備帶到公司當晚餐，菜單上的英文寫著「照燒」牛肉，我本來想說雖然寫照燒，但是會不會是什麼口味不太一樣的越南照燒醬？買了才發現就是一般甜甜鹹鹹那種照燒醬。



The beef was tender.  Teriyaki sauce was pretty tasty.  There were some lettuce and tomato in the sandwich, as well as some jalapeno on top.  But what made the sandwich good was the bread.  They really did a good job with the French bread.  It's crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, with a hint of butter.  Yum!  I only had half of a sandwich and was too full.

牛肉很嫩，照燒醬也不錯吃，三明治中還有一些生菜和番茄，上面則是有墨西哥青辣椒，但是讓這個三明治好吃的是他的麵包，他們家的法國麵包真的很不錯吃，外面脆脆的，中間鬆軟，還帶著一點奶油香，真的好好吃。

We also had two cups of Pudding Milk Tea for $1 each.  The food was enough for lunch + dinner for both of us.  How much did I spend?  $14!  Yes, only $14.  With that scary gas price right now, I think I'll be coming to Banh Mi Che Cali quite often.  For yummy and cheap Vietnamese food, this is the place to go!

我們還買了兩杯$1布丁奶茶，這些吃的夠我們兩個人吃午餐加上晚餐，猜猜我花了多少錢？才$14耶！現在油價貴得嚇死人，什麼都要省一點，以後一定會更常光臨Banh Mi Che Cali，要吃便宜大碗又好吃的越南料理來這裡就對啦！
