I read about Taco Nazo's fish taco on Yelp.com. I stopped by before work to get some tacos for dinner.
Taco Nazo has 4 locations in LA. The La Puente one looked big from the outside, but they only have outdoor seating. I ordered from the counter inside and grabbed some lime and radish from the self served salsa bar.
Fish/Pescado Taco ($1.69) / Shrimp/Camaron Taco ($1.99)
I got one fish taco and one shrimp taco. Honestly, they tasted kinda the same to me. The breading was thick, and good. But the actual fish and shrimp wasn't that much. Veggies were really fresh, and I love the cream sauce on top of the tacos. It was good, but I'd enjoy it equally if it was only a veggie taco with the sauce.
Tamarindo ($1.59)
Also got a tamarindo. They gave me a cup, told me to go to the soda machine to get some ice, then bring the cup back to the counter for them to fill it with tamarindo. Hmmm.... I thought that was strange service. I didn't like their tamarindo. It tasted really water down and the tart taste made me more thirsty.
I like the taco, but it was just ok good. If I'm in the area, maybe I'll go get it again. But I wouldn't make a special trip there again.

Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteNice review; I agree w/ your assessment. I found Taco Nazo's breading to be too thick when I tried it a while back.
Yeah I hardly tasted the fish/shrimp. But the sauce was yummy though.
