Both my brother and I had to work on Chinese New Year's Eve. So our family didn't really celebrate this year. On my way to work, I stopped by at Carl's Jr to get dinner. Yeah, fast food for Chinese New Year Eve. Sad....
Charbroiled Steak Sandwich ($4.79)
I had a coupon for free fries and drink when buying their new steak sandwich. At the drive through display, before they applied the coupon, the combo cost $9.18! Almost $10 for fast food? I couldn't believe the price.
The sandwich had lettuce, tomato, sirloin steak, and fried onion ring. They used some kind of mayo sauce (very little of it), but I couldn't really taste anything.
The super thin sirloin steak tasted a little weird. It tasted like steak but then not exactly. It just had a strange texture and taste to it. Maybe because it was processed/frozen/or god knows what they did to it. Do I like it? Not really. I won't get it again, and didn't think it was worth the price.
French Fries ($1.89)
The free fries was pretty good though. Maybe I thought it was good because it was free.
Fast food is so expensive now. I could've gone to one of those Chinese 3 item combo place to get much better dinner for less. I wasted money on the stupid steak sandwich, but never again.

Yeah $9 something for a fast food combo is pretty crazy, especially in this economic environment. Is Carl's Jr trying to commit suicide?

你知道嗎? 看完你的評論我很好奇到底這漢堡有多難吃， 因為一直以來我都還蠻喜歡 Carl's Junior. 最愛他們的fried zucchini 和 criss-cut fries. 也還蠻喜歡他們的漢堡. 目前為止還沒有試過讓我很失望的產品。
ReplyDelete所以剛剛去買了一份steak sandwich, 吃完的感想是...媽啊爆難吃的!!!
裡面的牛排又硬又乾外加沒什麼味道 (喔不是, 有一股很重的胡椒味), 那個像美乃滋的醬加了不少, 但是如你所說很神奇的一點味道都沒有, 蔬菜倒是蠻新鮮的, 但因為都沒味道的關係很像在啃草 (喔牛年真應景), 整個漢堡吃起來無論口感或滋味都不停的讓人想問到底是為什麼可以弄得這麼匪夷所思. 今天以前我一直以為漢堡是安全牌耶?!
我真是活該耶! 就有人說不好吃了還硬想試試看. 但criss-cut fries 還是一樣好吃就是了. 不然我真的會抓狂.

I just had it couple days ago cuz of the coupon...as always, it never looked as tasty as the ad photos..lol but I think the one u got is worse than mine..lol
