Fresh & Easy is my favorite supermarket. Most of the time I go to the West Covina store since it's on my way back from school. Sometimes I go to the one in Walnut between classes to get lunch. Sometimes I go to the Arcadia store. And some other times I go to the Hollywood store with Dr. Park. Yes, I go there a lot. I just love everything there. Everything is always, just like their name, fresh & easy. Here are some of the food I bought from the supermarket over the past month.
Spicy California Roll ($3.99)
Pretty good supermarket sushi. I didn't like the rice because it was too sticky. But I guess all supermarket sushi tastes like that.
Dinosaur Egg & Oatmeal and Raisin Cookie
Dinosuar Egg is also called pluot, a hybrid of plum and apricot. Yum! I love the soft and chewy Oatmeal & Raisin cookie from F&E.
Mighty Green Superfoods Juice ($2.59) & Chicken Caesar Wrap ($3.79)
Lunch at school. I love their "today's special". It's always 1/2 off for food that need to be sold on the same day. Since I was eating it right away, I didn't mind. Mighty Green Superfoods Juice has orange juice, mango puree, apple juice, pineapple juice, raspberry puree, spirulina, blue green algae, chlorella, wheat grass, barley grass juice, dulse. Lots of healthy stuffs.
Chicken Caesar Wrap ($3.79)
Chicken caesar warp with tender chicken pieces, crisp lettuce and caesar dressing. Simple and good.
Wellness Defense Juice ($2.59) & Curried Chicken Wrap ($2.99)
Get the idea? Juice + wrap/sandwich = quick & easy & healthy meal.
Curried Chicken Wrap ($2.99)
Curried Chicken Wrap was really good. The curried chicken salad was creamy. Even the wrap was curried flavor.
Amazing Acai Juice & Ham Sandwich
Another healthy lunch at school. I know acai is good for you, but I didn't like this juice at all. It was thick and had a weird taste. The ham sandwich was a bit dry too. Not a good lunch that day.
Chicken Makhani
This indian meal is from their freezer section.
Delicous! Love the Indian curry sauce. Too little rice though. That's ok. We had extra rice at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com. Mom, Dad and I all love this dish.
Sweet & Sour Chicken Snack Meal ($2.49)
This one wasn't that good. The sauce was too sweet and the whole thing was too soupy. Didn't like it at all.
Wellness Defense Juice, Goldfish & Sweet n' Salty Granola Bar
My "diet" dinner. Wellness defense juice is made of orange juice, pineapple juice, apple juice, pineapple puree, mango puree and echinacea blend. Everything is good here.
Primary Greens Juice & Granola Bars
Another day of dieting. The juice has celery, spinach, parsley, cucumber, kale, and romaine lettuce. It's all green vegetables, and it tasted like.... grass. One thing I like about their juices is that there's no sugar added. But at the same time, juice like this one didn't taste good without sugar though...
C-Up Juice
One more day of juice diet. C-Up juice has orange juice, pineapple puree, apple juice, mango puree, strawberry puree, passion fruit puree, and vitamin C complex. This one was yummy.
Pro Cheese Tropik ($1.70)
Cottage cheese with pineapple, mandarin orange and granola. I know cottage cheese is healthy, but I dont' know.... it's just not for me. This was yucky. I like yogurt much better.
Red Thai Style Chicken Curry ($4.29)
This one I like. The Thai red curry sauce was spicy with a bit of sweetness. Chicken was tender. Green bean tasted fresh. Will definately get this again.
So there.... Lots of F&E food. I just love going there!

ReplyDeleteDid you receive its $5 off coupon (if you spend $25) often? F&E uses it aggressively to entice shoppers. I got mine through American Express. My brother got one coupon every week.
F&E is quite addicative. =)
baby, the dinosaur egg is also called a "pluot", not "pluto." Pluto is a planet. :)

This is my fav place too, I go there every week, especially w/ a $5 coupon, what a bargain!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe've gone to the Arcadia F&E a few times, but every time we've gone there we were disappointed by the quality of the food. There's too much store brand stuff, and the quality isn't as good as say even Costco's Kirkland stuff. The sushi looks pretty un-fresh, so we passed on it... And the prices aren't all that great. Every time we go there the parking lot and store are pretty empty. We have better luck at Trader Joe's. I think it's probably the reason F&E canceled their plans to open 200+ stores across America.
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with this grocery store. The store is well decorated, the color combination is amazing, the store looks clean and so new. the staff seems to be so helpful, the other day i saw one of the employess helping an elderly lady shop throughout the store describing certain products to her. thats what you call customer service. Being a food and nutrition major, the food choices are great. i am also impressed with the gluten free products the carry for those with allegeries.i think we'll be seeing more and more fresh and easys pop up across america.
