I'm back at my parent's house in San Gabriel Valley to take care of some business. My parents asked me where I would like to go to have dinner. I told them I wanted something we don't have in Orange County. So we went back to Happy Noodle. Dr. P is going to be jealous. He was just talking about going back to Happy Noodle next time we come up to LA.
小菜三拼 3 Items Combo Appetizer
3 Items Combo Appetizer came with spicy peanuts, mustard green with edamame and tofu, and seaweed. Everything was great. The spicy peanuts were pretty addicting. I couldn't stop eating them.
蒜泥白肉 Pork with Garlic Sauce ($4.95)
Pork with Garlic Sauce was the one dish I miss the most. The paper thin pork was so soft. Love the spicy and garlicky sauce. The pork is especially good when eaten with a piece of cucumber.
擔擔麵 Dan Dan Noodle ($5.50)
My dad always orders Dan Dan Noodle. We asked them to have the spicy sauce on the side since my mom doesn't eat spicy food. I always thought Dan Dan Noodle was supposed to be made with some kind of peanut or sesame sauce. But their Dan Dan Noodle was just ground meat, cucumber, and the spicy chili sauce. I thought it was good because I like their chili sauce. But my mom kept on saying it wasn't the proper Dan Dan Noodle.
牛肉捲餅 Beef Roll ($6.50)
We always order their fried buns. This time we wanted to try something different and ordered Beef Roll. It was delicious! The beef was very soft. The roll was filled with fresh cilantro and green onion. I liked that they didn't put too much of the sweet hoisin sauce in the roll so I could really taste the beef. I liked it a lot. My parents enjoyed it also, although they said they still prefer the buns next time.
菜肉餛飩 Vegetable Pork Wonton ($4.95)
My mom loves their Vegetable Pork Wonton. Their wonton's pretty good (but man I miss WONTON FOREST!). The soup was flavorful with tons of seaweed.
It was a great dinner. Their business was really good on a Monday night. The place was completely full when we left. I think more people are finding out about this place. We'll be back again for Dr. P next time. haha....
