It was my mom's birthday, and she felt like having dim sum. We decided to try the newly opened Capital Seafood in Arcadia. We haven't been there before, but my brother has and liked it. We were there on a weekday around lunch time. The restaurant was almost full. They also offers lunch special with the typical Chinese dishes, but almost everyone was having dim sum. The restaurant has nice decoration and looks fancier than your regular Chinese restaurant. There is no dim sum cart. Everything has to be ordered from the menu. The price is slightly higher comparing to most dim sum restaurants in San Gabriel Valley.


蝦子燒賣皇 Pork Siu Mai (4) ($3.38)

Pork Siu Mai had a mixture of shrimp and pork as filling. It tasted very ordinary.

Brother has been raving about this new boba place near his house. Last time I went visit, sister-in-law and brother got a drink from Honeyboba for me to try.


Boba Milk Tea + Pudding

Boba Milk Tea with Pudding was OMG so good! Their milk tea was very milky, and I love it! Delicious delicious honey boba!!

I want to go there every time I'm in the area from now on!

Lunch with family up in San Gabriel Valley. My brother suggested Boiling Point, and I started drooling. Haven't had the stinky tofu hot pot for so long. They opened a new location in Arcadia. My brother has been there a few times, and said it was really good. We got there around 1pm on a Friday, and had to wait for about 20 minutes for seats. It was a hot day, but people didn't care and still wanted hot pot. That shows how good it is.


招牌臭臭鍋 House Special Hot Soup

We had to wait a VERY long time for the waiter to bring the individual hot pot, but it was worth the wait. This is one delicious hot pot! I ordered mine with medium spicy, and it was perfect. Love the intestine, stinky tofu, meat, soup, mushroom, and pretty much everything in the pot.

I told Dr. P I was going up to LA for the day. His request was to bring home the Hainan Chicken Rice from Tasty To Go. He asked me last time, but I didn't have time to go pick it up. He was so disappointed. This time I made sure I would bring home what he asked for, plus more!


海南雞飯 Hainan Chicken with Rice ($5.55)

This was the Hainan Chicken with Rice Dr. P has been craving for. The boneless dark meat chicken was very flavorful and tender. The sauteed napa cabbage with black ear mushroom was very tasty. The chicken rice was delicious. The best part was the green onion and ginger sauce. Dr. P just couldn't get enough of this.

I went home to have a belated Mother's Day dinner with my family. Brother suggested Chang's Garden. They all ate there before, and thought the food was good. I've never been there, and was really looking forward for some delicious Shanghainese food.


花生 Peanuts

Our friendly waitress brought us some free peanuts while we looked through the menu. The first thing I noticed about the waitresses at this restaurant was that EVERYONE has the same haircut! They all had this short bob cut with bang. They were all wearing the same uniform. I wonder if they have "uniform hair" rule, too?

After dinner with family, Dr. P and I went with my brother and his wife to their favorite boba place, Tasty To Go.


茉香綠茶 Jasmine Green Tea ($3.00) with 蜂蜜波霸 Honey Boba ($0.50 Add-On) / 烏龍奶茶 Oolong Milk Tea

My brother always orders the same thing, Jasmine Green Tea with Honey Boba. It's his favorite drink. Sister-in-law Ayami ordered Oolong Milk Tea. I tried a sip, and the oolong tea tasted pretty strong. They definitely used real oolong tea leaf to make the tea.

My brother and sister-in-law took me to Tasty To Go to try their "really really good drinks" (according to them).  It was sort of a take-out place with a few tables inside.  The L shape counter pretty much had two sides.  One side is for drinks like boba and slushy.  The other side is for those 3 items combo.

Brother ordered Jasmine Milk Tea with Honey Boba.  He said that was what he ALWAYS orders.  Sister in law ordered Yogurt Slushy (多多冰沙), which took a little longer to make so I forgot to take a picture of it.  It tasted just like Taiwanese yogurt drink 養樂多.  I ordered Almond Fresh Milk Fusion with Honey Boba.  The Milk Fusion had more milk than tea, and I loved this drink.  Yup, Tasty To Go does have really really good drinks.

這次是到辛巴樂旁邊的商店買CD，其實也不餓，但是看他們下午三點生意還是好得不得了，居然門口還有人在等，我就拉著公園先生想說那我們也去湊一下熱鬧吧！反正天氣有點熱，那我們就去吃個八寶冰好了。


紅油炒手 Spicy Wonton

本來想說只要吃冰，但是一看到菜單，就忍不住想點些小菜來吃，因為公園先生喜歡吃辣，我就點了個紅油炒手來給他試試。一顆一顆的小餛飩在香香的辣汁裡，我不知道這裡面是用什麼調味的，但是味道跟一般在四川店吃的那種麻辣口味不太一樣，這裡有種台灣味，吃得出蒜跟蔥的香味，超級好吃的，我想這道已經榮登我個人的紅油炒手排行榜第一名。

記得幾年前辛巴樂剛開張的時候，我超級愛吃他們的排骨飯，幾乎每兩三天就去吃一次，忽然有一天我發現我吃膩了，之後就沒有那麼長光顧了，從開張以來他們的生意就一直不錯，現在不但餐廳擴大，而且生意比以前更好，幾乎去都要排隊，以前台灣小吃店都只有華人知道，但是這家辛芭樂的名氣可是傳播到外國人都知道呢！他們最有名的就是自己灌的香腸，排骨飯跟八寶冰，我跟我妹好久沒吃台灣小吃了，所以這天決定到辛巴樂懷念一下家鄉口味。


原味台灣香腸 Taiwanese Sausage

這是原味台灣香腸，味道真的跟台灣的一樣，但是我還是好懷念台灣的烤香腸剛烤好那種又油又燙的口感，這裡的香腸味道很好，但是可惜不是像台灣夜市那樣用烤的，配上薄薄的大蒜片，好吃好吃。

跟妹妹去逛百貨公司，看到了這家新開張的海鮮餐廳，決定進去試試看。我們去的時間是一個星期天下午大約三點多，餐廳還在賣午餐，而且人還蠻多的，果然假日大家都睡很晚！



菜單一上來，我們真是看的眼花撩亂，因為他們賣的東西實在太多了，各式各樣的海鮮，生的熟的冷的熱的通通都有，價錢都還不算貴，我們實在不知道該點什麼好，還好我們的服務生很親切的介紹了幾樣他們特別有名的餐點，另外他們還有每天更新的今日特餐，都是根據今天最新進貨的新鮮海鮮而更新的菜單，所以我妹妹點了今日新鮮的比目魚，而我點了椰香咖哩蚌殼飯，並另外加了一客海鮮湯。

有一天早上起床，忽然好想吃中式早餐，於是開了半個小時的車，特地到一家有賣中式早餐的餐廳買了外賣，心想既然開了這麼遠來，那就多買一些吧！不過跟台灣的早餐比起來，這裡的味道沒那麼到地，價錢也貴了兩倍，這樣就要美金20元喔！不過沒魚蝦也好啦！


魚片粥 Fish Porridge

這一道是魚片粥，是我覺得最划算的一道，裡面的魚肉非常多，但是我個人覺得粥煮的不夠爛，似乎我們家附近港式飲茶店賣的廣東粥煮的比較爛比較好吃，這家的魚片粥薑味蠻重的，因為我不喜歡薑，所以覺得這個粥還好。
