Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24: Insects Dinner at Typhoon Restaurant

Typhoon Restaurant
3221 Donald Douglas Loop S.
Santa Monica, CA 90405
(310) 390-6565
http://www.typhoon-restaurant.com

Dr. P's friend Timmy has been talking about trying out some cooked insects from Typhoon Restaurant.  I proposed the idea of an insects dinner party to Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24 and got picked!!!!  Thank you, Foodbuzz, for giving the seven of us the opportunity to chow down some insects (and amphibian too) last night.

Typhoon Restaurant is located inside Santa Monica Airport on the 2nd floor.  Our reservation was at 5:30pm.  The restaurant was already full.  People just kept on coming in the entire night.  We were surprised how popular this restaurant is.  Does everybody like insects that much?

Joe's Birthday BBQ at Huntington Beach

Yesterday was Dr. P's friend Joe's birthday.  He organized a birthday BBQ party at Huntington Beach.

Dr. P and his friends.  Birthday boy (in the middle) just turned 35, but he still looks young.

What Happened to QQ Cafe?

Have you guys been to QQ Cafe lately? Last night we got takeout from QQ. I didn't take pictures because we always get the same things and food has always been good so I didn't think I need to blog about it. But it was the first time that we didn't think the food was good.

Popcorn chicken (鹽酥雞) was way way way over-fried. It was so hard and dry. We ended up throwing the whole box away. Stew Pork Rice (控肉飯) was so fat (and not the good kind) that it was just oily and gross. The flavor was different, too. Pork Chop Rice (排骨飯) was alright. Dr. P thought it was a lot sweeter than usual. I ordered my slushy ice with milk for extra $0.50 and there was no milk.

What happened to QQ? What is going on with my favorite Taiwanese restaurant? One thing I did noticed was the owners were not there yesterday. Did they go on vacation? Has the food gone downhill because they weren't there? I don't know....

I probably won't go back to QQ for a while now. If you guys go, please let me know if they food becomes "normal" again.

[San Gabrile] [Fusion] 上林鐵板燒 Kingswood Teppan Steak House

Kingswood Teppan Steak House
上林鐵板燒

250 W Valley Blvd #L
San Gabriel, CA 91776
(626) 282-9600

I tried to take my parents out to eat at least once a week.  When they go out to eat, they always go to the same restaurants and ordering the same dishes.  I like to take them out to try different things.  They haven't had teppanyaki for a long time.  When I suggested to have teppanyaki for lunch, mom was really excited.  Dad didn't like the idea first because he thought it would be too expensive.  He was nice and didn't want me to spend too much money.  But I assured them lunch special at Kingswood isn't expensive at all.

You can pick two items for $9.50 or 3 items for $12.50.  That's a pretty good deal for teppanyaki.

[Alhambra] [Taiwanese] 政記牛肉麵大王 Beef Noodle King

Beef Noodle King
政記牛肉麵大王

1265 E. Valley Blvd.
Alhambra, CA 91801
(626) 281-4836

We haven't been back to Beef Noodle King for the longest time.  It was about 9pm on Monday night and this restaurant was still full of people.  That gotta show how good the food was.

黃瓜Spicy Cold Cucumber ($1.95)

Dr. P's favorite, Spicy Cold Cucumber.  It wasn't spicy at all, but still good though.

[San Gabriel] [Taiwanese] 阿宗麵線 Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle

Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle
阿宗麵線

140 W Valley Blvd #208
San Gabriel, CA 91776
(626) 280-0186

Ever since our visit to Ay-Chung last time, Dr. P has been craving for their noodle.  We were just driving by and randomly decided to go in to get take-out for a snack.

阿宗麵線 House Special Thicken Soup Thin Noodle ($4.60)

The House Special Thicken Soup Thin Noodle was really good.  Dr. P loves the soup, and I love the intestine.

I miss Taiwan, where I can get the thicken soup thin noodle for $2.  If it's $2 here in LA, I would eat this ALL THE TIME!

[San Gabriel] [Chinese] 東方特快 Oriental Express Cafe

Oriental Express Cafe
東方特快

158 S. San Gabriel Blvd.
San Gabriel, CA 91776
(626) 292-1868

We were trying to save money.  Where do you go for cheap and good food?  Oriental Express Cafe of course.

3 Items Combo ($4.60)

Dr. P picked the 3 items in this box:  smoked chicken, meat balls, and spicy tofu.  He liked everything.

BBQ at Timmy's

Last Sunday we went to Dr. P's friend Timmy's house for Memorial Day BBQ.  We ate a whole lot of food.

Chips and Guacamole

We started out with some chips and http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com-made guacamole.  Loved the guacamole!

MC Hotdog, TriPoets & Free 9 in LA

MC Hotdog is probably the biggest rapper in Taiwan right now. I met him and A-Yue's bandFree 9 back in 2004.  They have been back to LA a few times to perform.  This time they were in LA for a concert, along with TriPoets (參劈), a rap group from Taiwan.  I asked Dr. P to go to the concert with me....

Dr. P:  Hmmm.... I don't know.  I won't understand the lyrics.  I don't know their music, either.
Me:  Why don't you look up MC Hotdog's music video on YouTube and see if you like the music?
Dr. P:  (Found this video on YouTube)  Oh yeah.... that's what I'm talking about, yo!  Hoochie Taiwanese girls in bikinis shaking booties.
Me:  Yeah, there are gonna be lots of girls like that at the concert.
Dr. P:  Yes, we're going FOR SURE!

So here we were, at Club Tatou on Saturday night.  We hung out in their drinking dressing room before the show.  MC Hotdog 熱狗 had major jetlag for the past 2 days.  But he was ready for stage on Saturday night!

[Rowland Heights] [Korean] The House of Korea

The House of Korea
18751 E Colima Rd
Rowland Heights, CA 91748
(626) 965-2007

Thanks to my readers, I have this super long to-try list of restaurants from everyone's recommendation.  A reader told me about the $9.99 all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant in Rowland Heights.  What?  $9.99?  I took my parents there for a weekday lunch.

There were actually 2 prices for lunch.  For $9.99 you get 6 choices of meat.  For $12.99, you get 12 choices, plus soup, plus steam egg, plus rice.  Since dad was feeling like having some beef tongue, we opted for the $12.99 set B.

[Arcadia] [American] Cheesecake Factory

Cheesecake Factory

http://www.thecheesecakefactory.com

Do you guys have credit cards that accumulate points that you can exchange for things?  Whenever I get enough points, what do I get?  Restaurant gift cards of course.  I got a $50 Cheesecake Factory GC because my mom loves Cheesecake Factory.  So one night when dad went out with his friends for dinner, mom said with a big smile, "I don't need to cook tonight.  Let's go to Cheesecake Factory!"

Bread

We always love the bread at Cheesecake Factory.

[Los Angeles] [Japanese] Taiko Japanese Restaurant

Taiko Japanese Restaurant
太幸

11677 San Vicente Blvd Ste 302
Los Angeles, CA 90049
(310) 207-7782

Sunday night, we felt like having some Asian food.  Korean?  Too lazy to drive to K-Town.  Thai?  Didn't like the Americanized Thai food in WLA and Thai Town is too far.  Chinese?  Nah I rather have Chinese on my side of town.  Japanese?  Yes, but somehow I didn't feel like having sushi.  Then Dr. P remembered this Japanese udon + rice bowl combo restaurant he used to like back in his UCLA student days.

We got there pretty early.  It was about 5-ish and the restaurant was empty.  A lot of families with kids showed up later.  Something strange we noticed....  EVERY family and EVERY couple that came to the restaurant that night was Asian girl + non-Asian guy, including us!  Hmmm....

[Santa Monica] [American] Fig Restaurant

Fig Restaurant
101 Wilshire Blvd
Santa Monica, CA 90401
(310) 319-3111
http://www.figsantamonica.com

I found Fig Restaurant on Restaurant.com a few months back.  $25 gift certificate was on sale for $2 at that time.  I bought the GC just because I like Fig Restaurant's website.  We had no idea how the food is like and decided to visit only because of the GC.  It turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

Fig Restaurant is located inside The Fairmont Miramar Hotel.  The restaurant was small, but lively.

[Los Angeles] [Japanese] Sawtelle Tempura House

Sawtelle Tempura House
1816 Sawtelle Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90025
(310) 479-5989

Dr. P went surfing on Saturday morning, and stopped by Sawtelle Tempura House to grab some Japanese bento lunch to bring http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

Bento ($5.50)

I got my usual bento.  There was a big piece of fried fish in the bento every time before.  But this time there was no fried fish.  Instead there was grilled mackerel.  Yum!  I love mackerel.  I really like their chicken, too.  I could never finish a bento by myself though.  Just too much food.

[Los Angeles] [Fusion] Alibi Room

Alibi Room
12236 W Washington Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90066
(310) 390-9300
http://www.alibiroomla.com

After our "appetizer" wine dinner at Campanile, we still felt a bit hungry.  Then Kogi BBQ crossed my mind.  I have been wanting to try the hottest new thing in LA, Korean taco.  But we didn't want to wait in line for hours at their taco truck location.  So we headed to Alibi Room for some drinks and Korean taco.

We got there around 10pm.  Found street parking right across the street.  There was nobody outside on the street.  This place was almost unnoticeable.

[Los Angeles] [American] Campanile

Campanile
624 S La Brea Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90036
(323) 938-1447
http://www.campanilerestaurant.com

We had a wonderful Valentine's Dinner at Campanile this year and have been wanting to go back again.  Dr. P is a wine lover and he was very interested in trying Campanile's "Friday Night Flights".  Every Friday, Campanile offers 2 sets of "Friday Night Flights" menu consisting of 3 appetizer-size entrees and 3 paired wines.  The price was $38, but recently it was reduced to $25.  3 dishes and 3 wines for $25?  Sounds like a good deal.  We made our reservation for Friday at 7pm.

Bread & Butter

The meal started with La Brea Bakery's olive bread.  We loved the olive bread and asked for a 2nd basket.  As I was looking around, I noticed not to many people ordered the "Friday Night Flights".  Hmmm.... I thought most people came here on that day for the special menu, but guess not.

[Walnut] [Light Meal] Royal Catering

Royal Catering
(626) 280-9780

If I'm working out on the farm in my school, then the only way to get food is from catering truck.  Royal Catering is the one that service our school farm.  They usually come early in the morning for breakfast and return about 1pm for lunch.

Sandwiches are $3.50.  Burritos and other stuffs are about $4.50.  The ladies who work on the truck are very nice.  They can pretty much make anything you ask for.

Animals from School

I really like the Veterinary Technology program from Mt San Antonio College.  We have so many different animals in school.  Students also bring all kinds of pets to school.  It's just so fun to go to school every day.  And we get hand-on experience working with all different types of animals.  It's a really great program for anybody who loves animal or wants to be a vet or vet tech.  I want to show you guys some random pictures I took in school this semester.

Some calves were born earlier this year.  Now they are few months old.  Very cute.

Greyhounds Are Just So Cute!

I've been working with the second set of greyhound.  Last time we had 2 girls and 6 boys.  This time we got 8 boys.

Nitto

Nitto is quiet and sweet, but show him a Frisbee then he goes crazy.

[El Monte] [Argentinian] Tito's Market

Tito's Market
9814 Garvey Ave
El Monte, CA 91735
(626) 579-1893

I found Tito's Market from Yelp.  It's a small Argentinian market that is more famous for its sandwiches and empanadas.  Dr. P and I actually came here once before, but it was after their closing time at 6pm.  This time I came in the afternoon to get some sandwiches to-go.  There is a big dining area inside the market.  Even though it was 3pm, the place was still busy.  I waited for about 10 minutes for the 3 sandwiches I ordered.

Milanesa Sandwich ($3.75)

Milanesa Sandwich is THE #1 sandwich!  It's #1 on the menu and #1 of what people are ordering.

[Monrovia] [Italian] Romano's Macaroni Grill

Romano's Macaroni Grill
945 W Huntington Drive
Monrovia, CA 91016
(626) 256-7969
http://www.macaronigrill.com

It was Mother's Day.  Dad went fishing.  Sister was busy working and on a diet.  Brother had to work.  Mom didn't really care too much going out to eat since we all got her nice presents already.  Since we had a $25 gift card from Romano's Macaroni Grill, mom said let's just go there for lunch. The restaurant was pretty busy for Mother's Day.  But we got a seat really fast since there were only the two of us.  Bigger parties all had to wait for seats.

Bread

The freshly baked rosemary ciabatta bread was so good.  Mom and I finished the entire bread and our waitress brought us another hot one that just came out of the oven.

After our shopping frenzy at the outlet, we were exhausted and hungry.  What do you eat when you are exhausted and hungry?  Buffet, of course!  We headed to Morongo Casino (where morons go haha....) for some casino style buffet dinner.

It was about 8:30pm and the buffet line was LONG!  On Saturday night they have prime rib dinner for $18.95 per person.  We waited in line for about 30 minutes.  Dr. P was really hungry and started acting like a dork.  haha....

Dr. P and I went to Desert Hills Outlet (the one next to Morongo Casino) to get Mother's Day presents for our moms.  There were so many people at the outlet.  The Coach store was crazy busy.  Dr. P was feeling hungry so we went to the food court first.  There weren't much choices and Dr. P decided to get a sausage sandwich.

Dr. P said he tried Jody Maroni's Sausage Kingdom in Century City Mall before and remembered it was good.

[San Gabriel] [Vietnamese] Com Tam Thuan Kieu

Com Tam Thuan Kieu
順橋碎米飯

123 E Valley Blvd
San Gabriel, CA 91776
(626) 280-5660

Ever since I tried the 10 items rice at Com Tam Thuan Kieu, I've been wanting to come back.  I took my parents here for dinner one night and they couldn't believe how much food you get for $10!

順橋碎米飯 (10味) Thuan Kieu Broken Rice with 10 Kind of Foods ($9.99)

The 3 of us shared 2 plates of Thuan Kieu Broken Rice with 10 Kind of Foods.  The 10 items were  charbroiled beef/pork/pork chop, pork sausage, shrimp roll, Chinese sausage, shrimp egg roll, pork egg roll, shredded pork skin, steamed egg, BBQ shrimp, and another different kind of shrimp roll.  We got one pork and one beef.  I thought pork was better than beef.  Turned out the 2 plates were way too much food for us.  We had 3 boxes of leftover food, which we finished in 2 days!  My parents loved the food, and the price!

[Santa Monica] [Italian] Riva

Riva
312 Wilshire Blvd
Santa Monica, CA 90401
(310) 451-7482
http://www.rivarestaurantla.com

Fraiche is one of our favorite restaurant in LA.  After the big success of Fraiche, Chef Jason Travi opened another eatery, Riva.  We finally made our first visit to Riva 2 weeks ago.  And we love Riva just much as Fraiche.

I made a really early reservation because I thought they have happy hour daily.  But too bad they don't have happy hour on the weekend.  So we sat at the bar area first while the hostess was getting our table ready.

$1,000,000 Vector W8 Twin Turbo

After our afternoon snack at Fulfilled, we decided to browse the fancy stores on Rodeo Drive a little. All the cars parked on the streets were either BMW or Mercedes Benz. Then this car caught my eyes!

At first I thought this must be a prop car from a movie or something.  It was probably just parked there for show.

[Beverly Hills] [Dessert] Fulfilled

Fulfilled
9405 S Santa Monica Blvd
Beverly Hills, CA 90210
(310) 860-0776
http://www.fulfilledpastries.com

We had a late breakfast on Saturday morning.  I got hungry around 3pm.  We headed to Fulfilled in Beverly Hills for some afternoon snack.

Fulfilled is a small pastry shop that specialize in imagawa-yaki, a.k.a. ima, or as us Taiwanese called it "car wheel cake".  The place is small.  There are only 3 tables, 6 seats.

[Los Angeles] [Japanese] Hide Sushi

Hide Sushi
2040 Sawtelle Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90025
(310) 477-7242

We haven't been to Hide Sushi for a while.  Both Dr. P and I were craving for sushi on a Friday night.  We decided to get takeout to save some money on tips.  We called around 5:30pm and was told that they were too busy and wouldn't be able to do any takeout order until after 7:30pm.  For good sushi, it was worth the wait.  We went to pick up our anticipated dinner promptly at 7:30pm.

A box of our favorite sushi.

Mom was saying she felt like having ice cream after our lunch at Shrimp House.  I mentioned Pinkberry, and mom said she heard about Pinkberry from her friends.  Her friend told her the "famous" yogurt ice cream is really good.  So I offered to take my mom to Pinkberry to try.

We went to the Monrovia location.  This place is huge!  I think it's the biggest Pinkberry I've been to.

[Arcadia] [Seafood] Shrimp House

Shrimp House
4488 E Live Oak Ave
Arcadia, CA 91006
(626)448-8742
http://www.originalshrimphouse.net

Mom has been talking about going back to Shrimp House ever since last we visited the restaurant.  I actually bought a few more gift certificates from Restaurant.com.  The GC is good for 1 year.  It's a good idea to stock up when they have their big 80% sale.

This time we went for lunch.  The restaurant was not too busy during lunch hour.  But a lot people come in to get take-out.  The restaurant offers lunch special menu with dishes range around $8.  The lunch special also come with soup or salad and one side.  Pretty good deal.

[El Monte] [Fast Food] El Pollo Loco

El Pollo Loco
4794 Peck Road
El Monte, CA 91732
(626) 448-6767
http://www.elpolloloco.com

To counter KFC's free grilled chicken offer, El Pollo Loco also offered their grilled chicken for free the next day.  KFC only gave away 1 piece of chicken.  El Pollo Loco gave away 2 pieces + tortilla.  El Pollo Loco won 1 point for that.  I got to the fast food joint around 10:30am, and only about 5 people were in line.  Nice!

Flame-Grilled Chicken

El Pollo Loco's grilled chicken was marinated in special herbs, spices and citrus juices.  It just tasted much more flavorful than KFC's.  Plus you get to eat the chicken with their spicy avocado sauce and salsa wrapped in tortilla.  El Pollo Loco got another point for that.

[El Monte] [Fast Food] Kentucky Fried Chicken

Kentucky Fried Chicken
3814 N Peck Road
El Monte, CA 91732
(626) 443-1367
http://www.kfc.com

A while ago, KFC gave away 1 piece of their new grilled chicken per person for free.  I took my mom with me to the KFC near my house.  We decided if the line was too long, then we would just leave.  Surprisingly, the line inside the store wasn't too long.  It was about 3pm and about 20 or so people in line.  Even though the line wasn't long, but everyone was ordering extra items (somehow everyone had a coupon sheet in hand) so the line wasn't really moving at all.  We went in to the store because there was no car at drive-thru.  So we assumed that the free chicken was only given in the store.  After waiting for about 5 minutes or so, I went up to the counter to ask the girl if we could get the free offer at drive-thru.  The answer was yes.  So we went back to our car, and got the free chicken.... no wait.  (Apparently, people in El Monte don't drive too much....)

Kentucky Grilled Chicken

The new grilled chicken wasn't bad.  Personally I think it tasted much better than their fried chicken.  But comparing to El Pollo Loco, KFC's version wasn't as flavorful.  The meat was pretty tender though.

Harissa-Crusted Tri-Tip Roast

Tri-tip was also on sale at Fresh and Easy.  I've never cooked tri-tip before.  The recipe makes 6 servings.  I planned to make this dish on Sunday night for dinner, and Dr. P can have the leftover to make sandwiches for the rest of the week.  The recipe is also from The Bon Appetit Fast Easy Fresh Cookbook.

Harissa-Crusted Tri-Tip Roast

To save time, you can buy prepared harissa (a hot North African chili sauce) at some specialty foods stores and Middle Eastern markets. Sambal oelek (a fiery mixture of chiles, brown sugar, and salt) is available in the Asian foods section of most supermarkets and at Asian markets.

Cinnamon Chicken with Couscous and Dried Fruit

We tried to cook at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com more often to save money.  I usually decide on what to cook depending on what is on sale at the supermarket that week.  I always shop at Fresh and Easy.  I browse through their weekly ad online to see the sale items.  Then I flip through my current favorite cookbook The Bon Appetit Fast Easy Fresh Cookbook to find recipes that use the sale items.  I got a big box of chicken thigh/leg x 6 for$4.50 and made Cinnamon Chicken with Couscous and Dried Fruit.

Cinnamon Chicken with Couscous and Dried Fruit

Classic North African flavors--cinnamon, mint, and dried fruit--play off each other beautifully in this exotic, one-skillet meal.  Look for whole chicken legs that include both the thigh and drumstick and ask the butcher to cut them into separate pieces.  If whole chicken legs are unavailable, use eight thighs instead.

So we had Japanese food for breakfast/lunch, which somehow made us want to go Japanese all the way for the whole day.  For dinner, we decided to save money and headed over to the food court at Mitsuwa.

Since I already had Santouka a few times, I wanted to try something new.  But after walking around the food court for some time, I still thought Santouka looked most appealing and ended up having Santouka Ramen for dinner.

[Culver City] [Japanese] Tokyo 7-7 Coffee Shop

Tokyo 7-7 Coffee Shop
3839 Main St #B
Culver City, CA 90232
(310) 204-5728

Tokyo 7-7 Coffee Shop is a Japanese/American diner located in Culver City.  I've been wanting to check out this small restaurant because I heard it was cheap.  Since Dr. P and I both like Japanese food a lot, we wanted to try Japanese breakfast diner style.  We went on a Saturday morning.  Well, not exactly morning morning, we got there around 11:30am.  We parked on one of the metered parking spot on Main Street and walked over to the restaurant.  You can't see this restaurant from the street.  It is hidden in a little alley way.

The restaurant was quite busy.  I like the little counter in the middle of the room.  It's very American-ish diner like, but the entire restaurant is ran by Japanese older ladies.  It was somewhat of a "lost in translation" feeling.  You feel like you are sitting in an American diner, but you are eating miso soup and rice so you feel like you're in a Japanese restaurant, then you take a sip of the coffee then you feel like you are having breakfast in an American diner, then the Japanese old lady comes over and talks to you in Japanese because she thinks you are Japanese, and that made you feel like you are in a Japanese restaurant......  Anyway, you get what I am saying, right?

Buitoni Wild Mushroom Agnolotti

Thanks for FoodBuzz,I received a free package of Buitoni Wild Mushroom Agnolotti to try.  The small package of pasta came in a big Styrofoam box filled with bags of ice sent via FedEx.  I am thinking they must spend a lot of $$$$ sending out just pasta.

So my mom cooked the pasta before I could take a picture.  But here is a picture of the empty box.  (>_<)  The all natural pasta is filled with fresh portobello & crimini mushrooms, imported Grana Padano & Parmesan cheese and fresh roasted garlic.

I went for the $4.99 for 8 pieces of chicken deal at Popeyes on Earth Day.  (Ahhhh I am so behind on my post.)  I went to the Covina location after class since it was on the way http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.  For some reason, I thought there wouldn't be that many people there.  I was wrong, way wrong!

There were people, lots of people.  People waiting in line, people waiting inside, people waiting outside, just tons of people.  I patiently stood in line.

[Monterey Park] [Chinese] 陸羽美食 Look You Fan Dim

Look You Fan Dim
陸羽美食

123 N Garfield Ave
Monterey Park, CA 91754
(626) 280-2888

When my parents like a restaurant, they would just keep on going so very often, until one day they kind of get tired of the same old food, then they'll try to find their next favorite restaurant.  Look You Fan Dim happens to be their favorite restaurant at the moment.

是日例湯 Soup of the Day

We went back to try their lunch special.  Lunch special is offered between 10am to 5pm, and soup and rice are free.

Cola-Braised Pork Stew

Tuna sandwich for lunch, what was for dinner? I flipped through the The Bon Appetit Fast Easy Fresh Cookbook and found the Cola-Braised Pork Stew.  It only needed a few ingredients and very very little preparation.  Perfect!  I cut up the pork, and just left it on the stove to stew while I was playing on my computer and enjoying the wonderful aroma in the room.

Cola-Braised Pork Stew

Southerners often use cola as an ingredient, including as a braising liquid for pork ribs or shoulder. Here's a quicker version of that traditional preparation; it simmers for about an hour and a half, but mostly unattended. The phosphoric acid in cola actually has a tenderizing effect on the meat, and the soda give deep flavor with just a touch of sweetness. Don't use diet cola-the artificial sweetener distorts the flavor. Serve over steamed white rice.

Enlightened Tuna Sandwiches

One way to save money is to eat out less. So Dr. P and I decided to eat out on Saturday and cook at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com on Sunday.

I buy way too many cookbooks.  A lot of them I probably will never use.  But The Bon Appetit Fast Easy Fresh Cookbook is definitely the "you can use it almost everyday" kinda cookbook.  All recipes only need a handful of common everyday ingredients, cook time is short, and cooking methods are easy.  It is my favorite cookbook at the moment.
